The Gram Vikas Sewa Sansthan (GVSS) is a value-based non-governmental organisation dedicated to the holistic development of rural communities in Uttar Pradesh. Its foundational values are equity and equality, participation, transparency and effectiveness.
GVSS has been working in the field of development right since its inception, backed by a strong staff team, an engaged board of members, a guiding advisory council, committed funding agencies and other allies who have enabled this journey to continue and grow.
Our work spans education, health and nutrition, sustainable livelihood, and environment and climate change โ touching the lives of over 7 lakh people across rural Uttar Pradesh.
"Working for equity and equality, participation, transparency and effectiveness in rural development."
We believe every person, regardless of caste, gender or economic status, deserves equal rights, opportunities and dignity. Our programmes prioritise the most marginalised.
Communities are not beneficiaries but partners. Every programme is co-designed with local voices, ensuring ownership, relevance and lasting impact.
We maintain open and honest communication with all stakeholders โ communities, donors and government โ and publish our accounts and reports publicly.
We hold ourselves to high standards of programme quality, monitoring and evaluation, continuously learning and adapting to ensure real impact on the ground.
Our work is guided by strong ethical principles, ensuring every rupee of donor funds is used with the utmost accountability for community benefit.
We build programmes that communities can own and sustain beyond project cycles, creating systems that outlast external support and foster self-reliance.
